Privacy Policy

In short

We collect what you type into the quote form so we can quote you, and we count page visits so we can tell which parts of the site are useful. We do not sell your information, we do not advertise to you across other websites, and we do not show you a cookie pop-up, because Canadian law does not require one for measurement of this kind.

What we collect, and why

When you request a quote

Your name, and an email address or a phone number so we can reply — one of the two is required, not both. Optionally your company name and project type, any message you write, and the list of products you added. We also record which page you arrived from and any campaign tags in the link you followed, so we know which part of the site produced the enquiry.

We use this to prepare and send your quote, to reply to you, and to keep a record of what was quoted.

When you leave a product review

The name you give, your rating and your review text. Reviews are checked before they appear. Whatever name you enter is published alongside the review, so enter only what you are content to have public.

When you browse

The list of products you are building is stored by your own browser, on your own device. It is not sent to us until you submit the form, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages lead to quote requests. It records things such as the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and whether you are on a phone or a desktop. It sets cookies in your browser so a repeat visit can be recognised.

We have deliberately switched off Google Signals and ad personalisation, the features that would let Google connect your visit here to a profile used for advertising elsewhere. We do not advertise on this site, and we never send your name, email address, phone number or message to Google.

We do not show a consent banner. Canadian privacy law does not require one for measurement of this kind, provided we tell you plainly what we collect — which is what this page is for — and provided you can opt out. You can:

• install Google's opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit;
• switch on a tracker blocker or "Do Not Track" in your browser; or
• email us, and we will tell you how to be excluded.

Who else sees your information

• Brevo, our email provider, sends your quote confirmation and holds your contact details so we can follow up. We send them your name, email address, phone number, company, project type and quote reference.
• Google, for the analytics described above.
• Vercel and Neon, who host this website and its database.

That is the complete list. We do not sell your personal information, we do not trade it, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Your information is stored on servers in North America. Brevo is a French company and may process it in the European Union, where protection is at least equivalent to Canada's.

How long we keep it

Quote requests and the records attached to them are kept for 7 years, because a quote can form part of the business records the Canada Revenue Agency requires us to retain. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Ask for marketing email to stop and we will stop it — every message we send also carries an unsubscribe link.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Security

Quote records are held in an access-controlled database and staff sign in to reach them. Your quote confirmation page is protected by an unguessable link, so knowing a quote number is not enough to open somebody else's. No website can promise perfect security, but this one holds no payment card details at all — there is nothing to check out here, and we never ask for card numbers.

Children

This is a trade supply site. It is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date below. If a change is significant we will say so on the home page.
